Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the forms of violation and the use of language politeness maxims in conversations between sellers and buyers at Simpur Center Bandar Lampung. The research method used to examine language politeness in conversations between sellers and buyers is a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were sellers and buyers who were at the Simpur Center Bandar Lampung. The data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. By recording the conversation between the seller and the buyer, then the recorded data is converted into text, marking a dialogue that shows the existence of forms of use and violation, clarifying findings, explaining forms of use and violation of linguistic maxims, discussing research questions and concluding. The results show that the interactions that occur between the seller and the buyer at the Simpur Center Bandar Lampung takes place in a polite manner because the seller and the buyer have paid attention to the principle of politeness in language. This is proven and the number of linguistic maxims used, from the 6 principles of politeness, almost as much as the maxims appear in speech. The results of data analysis showed that there were 37 findings of the use of maxims of linguistic maxims, the findings of the data included wisdom maxims as many as 13 findings, wisdom maxims 12 findings, remuneration maxims, compatibility maxims 6 findings, and humility maxim I findings. who deviate or do not comply with the principle of politeness in language There are 6 findings of violations of linguistic maxims, the findings of violations include maxim of wisdom as many as 3 violations, maxim of appreciation 1 violation, maxim of humility 1 violation, and maxim of sympathy 1 violation
